Homes in Somerset Leads Tpas Conference

Homes in Somerset led a conference for Tpas, England’s leading tenant engagement experts, together with Somerset Council.

Tpas is a not-for-profit organisation, which promotes, supports and champions tenant involvement and empowerment in social housing across England.

Sharon Collard and Jade Cox from Homes in Somerset, together with Involved Customer and Tenant Board Member Craig, gave a presentation on all our involved customer groups, with a section on estate walkabouts and information on what we find, how we report and how we follow it up.

There was a chance for a Q&A session. Tenants from social housing providers across the South West attended the event, and the Stop Social Housing Stigma Campaign gave a talk about their campaign, which is supported by Homes in Somerset.

Sharon said: “The regional Tpas networking events provide a valuable opportunity for tenants and landlords to connect and share ideas about tenant engagement. Our presentation on estate walks was well received, and several attendees took away our community calling cards. Many also said it was important for them to see housing officers and staff present in their neighbourhoods.”

The event was held at the Somerset County Cricket Club in Taunton.
