New Corporate Strategy Sets Out Next Five Years

Homes in Somerset is proud to share its new five-year corporate strategy focusing on three key areas: Customer Driven, Transforming Together, and Building a Better Future.

The work is a culmination of discussions with Board members, colleagues, customers and key partners over several months and will guide the organisation through what is set to be a hugely exciting time as we combine with Somerset Council’s ‘in-house’ housing management service to create a 10,000-home landlord.

Setting a clear course for the period 2026-2031, it reaffirms our purpose to build stronger communities through great homes, and weaves in our three core values – being Focused, Innovative and Trusted.

Our first strategic pillar, Customer Driven, combines several core strands which include helping all to live well, community cohesion and brilliant communication. The second, Transforming People, includes the strands culture and people and strengthening and developing strategic partnerships, and the third, Building a Better Future, includes fit for purpose corporate structure, and extended services for existing and new customers.

Chief Executive Peter Hatch said: “As we move forward into what promises to be an exciting time for Homes in Somerset, we can be confident in a solid framework that guides our principles and solidifies our goals in order to benefit our customers, our stakeholders, and our colleagues.

“Our new five-year corporate strategy builds on what we’ve learnt, both our strengths and our weaknesses, and ensures we take the very best practices into the future as we grow.”
