Independence and Wellbeing Service
Our supported housing provides safe, self-contained homes for people who want to live independently
Our Independence and Wellbeing Service helps you live safely and independently in your own home, with reassurance and support available when you need it.
We offer sheltered housing for people aged 55 and over, with self-contained homes, communal spaces and opportunities to be part of a friendly community.
How we can help
Our team can help you settle into your home, maintain your tenancy and access advice or practical guidance. We’ll work with you to understand what support is right for you through a needs assessment and tenancy sustainment plan, which will be reviewed during your tenancy.
Sheltered homes include Lifeline equipment, such as pendant alarms, for extra peace of mind. Aids and adaptations can also be fitted where needed to support your day-to-day living.
Some schemes have shared spaces where you can meet neighbours, take part in activities and enjoy companionship.
The Independence and Wellbeing Service does not provide domiciliary or nursing care. If you or someone you care for needs more support, our Independence and Wellbeing Plus Service may be more suitable.
Who can apply
To be eligible, you must be aged 55 or over and have a qualifying housing-related support need. If you are aged 55 to 65, you must also receive Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment.
