Executive Team
The Executive Team at Homes in Somerset looks after the running of the organisation on a day-to-day basis.

Chief Executive
Peter Hatch
Peter Hatch was appointed Chief Executive in 2019. Before joining HiS, Peter was the Executive Director of Property and Communities with Cheltenham Borough Homes (CBH), where he was responsible for operational services including building services, asset management, housing management, housing options and community engagement across general needs, older persons and support services.
While at CBH, Peter was also responsible for new home development and helped negotiate a £100m loan facility with the Cheltenham Borough Council as their joint partner to provide new affordable and private rented homes across the borough.
Prior to joining Cheltenham Borough Homes, Peter was the Group Customer Services Director (2014 – 2016) and Group Operations Director (2008 – 2014) with Housing Solutions Group, a housing association with 7,000 homes under management, where his responsibility was for customer services, asset management (including a Direct Labour Organisation), housing management and older persons support and care services.
Peter has a Masters Degree and Diploma in Housing and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. He is passionate about the importance of good quality affordable housing and delivering the very best services to customers.

Director of Communities and Customer Services
Claire Tough
Claire has worked in social housing for 18 years and first joined Sedgemoor District Council in 2006 as the ALMO was being launched.
She has held a variety of roles ensuring great tenancy and community services are delivered to customers through all areas of housing management including neighbourhoods, income management, homes and lettings, and community enabling.
Claire is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Housing and mentor for WISH (Women in Social Housing) supporting and coaching others working in the sector.

Director of Finance and Performance
Ben Lane
Ben joined Homes in Sedgemoor in 2020, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a commitment to public service. As a Chartered Certified Accountant with over 25 years of post-qualification experience, he oversees Finance, Performance, Risk, Governance, and IT functions for the organisation, ensuring value for money and continually improving services.
Ben’s career began at Dorset County Council, and he has since held roles in various public sector settings, including the NHS, Probation Service, and the Further Education sector. Before joining HiS, he served as Director of Business and Finance for a Multi Academy Trust in Wiltshire, where he led with a focus on operational efficiency and financial stewardship.
A dedicated community member, Ben volunteers as a Treasurer for his local church and serves as a parish councillor, where he works to support local initiatives and community needs. He’s passionate about making a positive difference to front line services, helping to improve the lives of our customers in every way he can. In his spare time you may find him walking his Weimaraner or working on his latest wood project.

Director of Asset Management and Safety
Naomi Macey
Naomi joined Homes in Somerset in 2019 and is responsible for all property related services including responsive repairs, void management and planned investment. A key part of her role is ensuring that homes are safe, warm and meet all regulatory requirements.
Prior to joining Homes in Somerset, Naomi worked for Charter Housing Association (part of the Pobl Group) in Wales for around 20 years covering various roles including housing management, lettings, customer services and asset management. Naomi has a Law Degree, holds a level 7 in Strategic Management & Leadership and is a Chartered Construction Manager with the Chartered Institute of Builders.
