Be part of your community for Mental Health Week

Mental Health Week runs until May 18, and since 2001, the Mental Health Foundation has been leading the initiative, bringing the UK together to focus on getting good mental health. This year, the theme is ‘community’.

Being part of a safe, positive community is vital for our mental health and wellbeing. At Homes in Somerset, we actively encourage community engagement, and alongside coffee mornings and estate walks, we often host litter picks, and fun days.

Understanding the importance of community means we can all thrive.

Did you know:

  • Showing kindness benefits both you and your community
  • People who are more socially connected to friends, family and their community are happy, physically healthier and more likely to live longer
  • Being part of a community is good for mental health and wellbeing
  • Being involved in community reduces feelings of isolation, promotes a sense of belonging, reduces loneliness and increases connection.
