Strengthening Communications

Colleagues from the Homes in Somerset Communications Team headed up to London for the annual Inside Housing Communications Conference on Tuesday, where they heard from industry leaders, and peers in the sector.

Communications Manager Bodhi Chidgey, Team Leader Laura Briggs and Communications and Design Coordinator Charlie Harper took the opportunity to sit at round-table workshops and hear from a wide array of speakers for some fresh perspectives.

Gaining insights from other communications professionals, it offered an opportunity for idea-sharing, and developing strategic thinking.

Topics covered during the day included engaging with the media, working with Government, preparing for a crisis, and communicating under pressure.

There was also a look at the future of communications in the housing sector.

The team will use learnings from the conference in future communications plans.
