Support for People Living with Persistent Pain

People across Somerset living with persistent pain will now be able to access new online Community Pain Hubs, thanks to social value funding provided by Westcountry Services Maintenance Ltd.

Community Pain Hubs Somerset CIC supports people whose daily lives are affected by long-term pain conditions. Through practical advice, peer support and wellbeing activities, the organisation helps people build the skills, confidence and connections needed to better manage their health and improve their quality of life. Its aim is to ensure that no one living with persistent pain feels isolated or unsupported.

Recently, Sharon Sloan, Tenant Engagement Officer, visited one of the established cafés alongside Steve Oakley, Client Services Manager, and Lee, Local Manager from Westcountry Services Maintenance, to see first-hand the positive impact the project is having on local residents.

The visit showed that the cafés offer far more than support with pain management. They provide welcoming spaces where people can make new friendships, grow in confidence and feel part of a supportive community, helping to reduce isolation and improve overall wellbeing.
