One Small Thing – let’s build a better future together
Do just One Small Thing to help reduce your bills and to help the environment. Together, by making small changes we can build a better future. Take part and share your hacks, just use #onesmallthing on socials or share your pledge below.

Get involved with our One Small Thing campaign to help save energy, the environment, and help reduce fuel poverty.
We understand that it’s not always easy to make positive environmental choices, and when life is busy, it can feel overwhelming doing the things that help save energy and nature.
We’ve launched the One Small Thing campaign to help support our tenants with energy advice, and ways to support the environment by making small changes that are easy to implement.
Look out for upcoming workshops and read our leaflet on how to make positive changes, and make sure you share your pledges with us, either through our form, on social media, using the hashtag #onesmallthing.

Easy fixes to lower energy bills and encourage nature
Turn Down Heating: Save Money and Energy
Turning your thermostat down by 1°C could save around £80–£100 a year while still keeping your home comfortable.
Tips:
• Close curtains at dusk
• Move furniture away from radiators
• Use draught excluders
Create a Bird Feeder or Bug Hotel (Encourage Nature)
Make a simple haven for wildlife using recycled materials.
Ideas:
• Yoghurt‑pot or bottle bird feeder
• Bug hotel made from stems, twigs, bamboo and pinecones
• Place on a window ledge, balcony or garden
Wash Clothes at 30 degrees
Most clothes clean perfectly well at lower temperatures. Washing at 30°C uses up to 40% less energy than higher settings — saving money and helping clothes last longer.
Try this:
• Wash full loads
• Use eco modes
• Air dry when possible
Repair One Thing
Before replacing something broken, try repairing it — it’s cheaper, greener, and surprisingly satisfying.
Ideas for quick fixes:
• Sew on a button
• Tighten loose screws on furniture
• Fix a bike puncture
• Replace a lamp bulb or plug
